Morocco is not for me.

Hello.

I left Morocco 8 years ago (as soon as I turned 18 and I could travel on my own) and I rarely go there for vacation.
I never belonged there, not because I knew I was gay, I actually didn't know at the time.
Individual freedoms do not exist in my home country and I am nowhere near a religious person (non-believer), so that gave me a choking sensation.
As long as the state laws cannot separate themselves from religious laws, I don't have much hope for my country.

That's the background of it.
The current situation is that I am with this gorgeous Bulgarian lady that I love with passion. We celebrated our second anniversary in Morocco last September (first was in Bulgaria). We're happy and we don't care what people think of us.
Where we live, same-sex marriage is legal, but we always hope that someday, maybe one day, it could be legal in our home countries. (Bulgaria would obviously be closer to that than Morocco)

I actually can say that in same position of your.
I left at the age of 22, and it is because I was looking at my country from the outside that I noticed all those issues, and also the fact that I had the chance to meet open minded people and freethinkers and I become one after years of doubts and fights with myself and my heritage.
I know now what I want for myself and what I don't want, but this is not stopping me from loving the country the people...
What is making me sad is that I can't move back there and live there with my girlfriend and share a house and a bed room...and have a simple couple life like we have abroad
it makes me sad that I'm no longer welcome, its make me sad that people that I used to love think that people like me are pariah and deserves to die or go to the Jail
it makes me sad that I can't be close to my mum or my sisters and brothers
it makes me sad that I have to lie (and I'm not a good liar)
it makes me sad
